QardioArm Packaging
QardioArm is a calm and comforting blood pressure monitor that is completely wireless and buttonless. The clean and minimalistic design we thought up strived to be medically sound, universal, and to put an end to ‘the white coat syndrome’ induced by other designs up to then. We imagined it discretely living in someones handbag like a notebook, makeup or keys.
The packaging had therefore to communicate the same values while also making the product desirable at first glimpse.

Our main goal was to de-stigmatise the old design, which triggered negative feelings, therefore, we focused on ways of giving the product new meaning. A less common geometrical form, the cylinder, slightly unusual in medical products had the power to take the object out of its previous context and enabled patients to create a new narrative around it.

The minimalist design reflects the innovation in size and the user-friendly experience of the product inside. It straight away communicates how small and portable the actual product is. The calm and unfussy typography we used for the packaging emphasises the purity and cleanliness of the product.

An additional objective was to reduce use of materials, because of the benefits to the environment and final product cost. To create an unexpected moment of delight we his the manual in the actual device - so it only became apparent as you unrolled the cover off the device.

This project was developed while at our previous design agency, Vitamins.
